Description

Within the massive range of the third generation Corvettes (aka “C3”) that were produced from 1968 through 1982, many enthusiasts prefer the “steel bumper” cars (1968-1972) thanks to their more powerful engines and classic chrome bumpers front and rear. Later C3s would see the Corvette’s luxury features increase and horsepower decrease. If you also favor those sharp steel bumper cars, here is one you should certainly check out. Boasting an NCRS “Top Flight” award where it scored 97.3 points out of 100, this 1970 Corvette roadster features the optional 350-horsepower engine, a 4-speed stick, a removable hard top and a beautiful Marlboro Maroon finish. Having undergone an older, high-end, frame-off restoration, the Corvette’s body, paint and chrome all look incredible, while a set of factory rally wheels fitted with BF Goodrich Radial T/As finish it off nicely. The underside is so clean we would eat lasagna off of it. Swing open the door and you’ll note the interior’s similarly pristine condition. In addition to those mentioned earlier, other options include power steering, tilt/telescopic steering wheel and an AM/FM stereo radio. Even the fiber optic monitor system works. It also comes with a binder of documentation including the window sticker, the owner’s manual, a few 1970 print ads, a factory color chart, an accessories brochure, an NCRS Judging Manual and the NCRS scoring sheets. Powered by its original “L46” 350 V8 that from the factory packed an 11:1 compression ratio and a high-performance cam, this numbers-matching roadster bumps up the fun factor with its four-speed stick and 3.55:1 Positraction rear end. When the suspension was refurbished a set of adjustable shocks was installed as an upgrade. As such, the Corvette tracks arrow-straight and hugs the curves while delivering a smooth ride. Overall, the car sounds and drives great, just as you’d expect of a carefully restored, award-winning example. This classic Corvette is "turn-key" ready for you to enjoy.
