This ultra
rare example is the most sought after collectible 1st generation
pace car available. Only 43 Festival cars set the pace
back on May 30th, 1967. Purchased back in 2006 from a
private collector in PA, this Camaro was a part of a rare
collection that was rarely driven. Sold to another
collector in OK, this Camaro Pace car has only been driven 37
miles since 2006. Since we have acquired the vehicle, we
have gone completely through the car because it has been sitting
idle. Service starting with the fuel system, we removed
the gas tank and cleaned the gas tank with a new sending unit
and new fluids., flushed the radiator, trans service, rear
differential service, carb. overhaul, oil change, fuel and
filter, wheel cylinders, brake service, oil leaks, new seals, 1
headlight contact switch, faulty. Complete tune up,
points, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, condenser etc. Now, up
and running, you'll want to check out this beautiful single re
paint, (older paint that is exceptionally nice), and straight
body that still has that high gloss finish. Proper
aligning original doors, hood and rear deck lid, orig. tinted
glass, except replacement windshield, restored front and rear
chrome bumpers. The front grille headlight eye brows
and head light doors are in excellent condition.
Stainless, trim, bright work, emblems, door handles, wheel house mouldings are all in fine condition. Orig. window
felts, vent window rubbers are nice without dry rot or cracking,
vent window chrome is above driver quality condition, but not
perfect. Detailed door, hood and trunk jamb areas.
Nice clean door bottoms, rock solid original front fenders.
Solid rear quarters that were replaced along time ago when the
car was repainted. Orig. trunk pan, solid orig. rust free
floors and uni-structure with no signs of rust or repair.
Orig. 14" Rally wheels with bias ply Firestone wide oval super
sport F-79x14" Red Line tires that are also new.
Inspecting under the hood, the car has sustained the original, 350/295hp, #'s matching motor. All the components
under the hood are original, except for the battery.
Intake, carb, exhaust manifolds, dist., alternator, etc are #'s
matching. Original chrome Chevrolet valve covers and orig.
air cleaner element.. Orig. spark lug shields, even the
driver's side motor mount bracket with the cable tie going threw
the upper control arm bushings are still there. PS, PFDB,
correct hoses and clamps. Orig. cowl tag on the firewall.
The motor is completely stock with no modifications and runs
smooth and quiet with the new stock dual exhaust and single
transverse muffler recently installed. Orig. front end
with rebuilt front calipers, new front sway bar links, orig.
upper ball joint with factory rivets. Only 75,240 actual
miles indicated as original. Hideaway headlights that work
great, 2 spd., wipers w/window washer option. Clean engine
compartment that is un restored and what appears to be the
original factory paint on the engine. Taking a look
inside, handsomely dressed in bright blue deluxe interior that
has no wear or tear, carpet with no fading, seat covers, door
panels, dash pad, instrument cluster are in extremely nice
shape. Factory tilt wheel, orig. wood grain walnut
steering wheel with no cracks, factory tach with 5500rpm red
line. Beautiful orig. console with no pits in the chrome
trim, factory gauges. Everything works except the clock.
Factory am/fm radio, complete set of orig. factory deluxe seat
belts in excellent condition. New glove box insert with
light. Door window cranks & hardware are original.
Rear view mirror is orig. Manual white convertible top is
in super condition. The medium blue boot has a date code of Nov.
1966(stamped on the inside of the boot). None of the
clips are broken and are just as nice as the rest of the
interior. Over all, very good to excellent condition. This
car has never been abused and has been pampered all its life.
Due to low production numbers, this car is highly collectible
and very rare, especially one in this condition. Comes
with owner history and listed in The Pace Car Registry, copy of
the PA Title, and OK Title. Like they say...if cars could
talk, this one would have great stories of the Indy Pace
Car series. Keep in mind, Blue Chip cars such as this one
are hard to find, most are in private collections or museums and
are rarely for sale. We are pleased to offer such an
exceptional piece of history, did I mention return on
investment...cha-ching! This car will escalate in the
coming years, and right now...that's better than $$ in the bank! |
