The 1982 Corvette engine bay did offer a glimpse into the future. A new fuel delivery system called the "Crossfire injection" made it's debut. Sometimes called the "Throttle body injection" it can be thought of as a combination of a carburetor and fuel injection. The new system enabled the engine to be rated at 200hp and still satisfy the increasing stringent anti-smog regulations. A new electrical fuel pump integral to the gas tank was part of the system. A new weight saving and performance enhancing fiberglass leaf spring was part of the rear suspension in all 1982 Corvettes. This Corvette is a rare factory color, dark claret/red interior color combo. Mirror T-tops, low 71,699 miles and well taken care of. Affordable and a great driving machine.
