Comments: Offered from a private collection, this 1940 Deluxe sedan is stored off site, please call ahead.  Here is something your grandfather may have driven...only 30,887 original miles!  Super solid orig. rust free body. Powered by a flathead V8, Offenhauser alum heads 2 barrel carb. 12 volt system has been updated as well as the   Mallory electronic distributor.  The motor was rebuilt from a later 1948 model.  The straight body, with only one single repaint has an excellent fit and finish.  Orig. running boards.  Original glass, including the windshield. Split tear drop rear window.  Equipped with extended driver and passenger side mirrors.  3 spd. column shifter.  Outstanding stainless trim, chrome bumpers, grille, grille guard, headlight and tail light bezels.  Verified by the owner, there are no patch panels and the body is rock solid, including the underside and trunk.  Mostly original inside, the brown accented tan interior has the original seat covers, in dash windshield wiper button, after market cassette player, orig. steering wheel with no cracks, orig. rubber mats, new headliner. Red Ford steel wheels with white wall tires  with trim rings and Ford logo caps.  Very nice driver, this early Ford has that dressed look of nostalgia, reflecting that genteel manner of it's day.  Imagine, men fully clad in suits and wing tip shoes wearing vintage fedora hats, and women making a statement in their perfectly coiffed roller set hair, and fitted rayon style dresses, with high healed pumps just screams out class with a slight gangsta' twist.  Rarely driven and always stored in a heated garage.  An oil change sticker in the door jamb indicates on 7/6/55 the vehicle  had only 6,746 miles.  Surely, a time capsule, and priced to sell.
