This 1956 Thunderbird went through an extensive body on
restoration. It was completely stripped down to bare metal, no
visible rust was noticed on the original body, only minor dings
and dents which were repaired and straightened prior to the
primer application. This T-bird was painted with 2 stage PPG
base coat/ clear coat. After several base paint coats the final
clear coat was applied to give it a outstanding high gloss
mirror image finish. The car was originally Raven black over
Colonial white, but went through a complete color change and is
now Admiral blue. Nicely restored and re-chromed front and rear
bumpers, headlight bezels, and all bright work and trim. New
shaded replacement windshield, original side door glass that is
in excellent condition. Glass wing windows have a floral etched
design in which was tastefully done. New dual side view mirrors,
fender skirts, and continental kit. Brand new Firestone Deluxe
Champion 6.70-15 inch wide whites with original wire caps.
Taking a closer look at the underside of this bird appears to be
all original solid floors, frame, braces. Painted and detailed.
Both rear quarters are original as well as the trunk pan and
lid. Right rear lower quarter panel repair, professionally done.
Rust free doors and fenders. Overall a very solid original car.
The interior of this car is absolutely gorgeous, chrome trim is
highly polished to show quality. New carpet, seat foam and seat
covers restored to factory condition, rear view mirror, door
panels and dash pad. Original steering wheel with telescopic
feature, no cracks. Courtesy lights, tach, fuel, temp, speedo
all in working order. Clock is inoperative. After market am/fm
cassette that was nicely installed. Original style rubber T-bird
floor mats. 4 way power seats. Odometer reads 98,969 actual
miles. Under the hood is detailed with original factory
appearance, no modifications. Pump the gas twice, turn the key
and Vrrrooomm, the car purrs like a kitten and drives like a
dream. No squeaks, rattles, or clunks. This car needs to been
seen and driven to appreciate. Photos of restoration available
upon request. |
