Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This 1965 Futura was
born and raised in Charlotte NC up until 2008. Restored in
06-07 this Falcon was completely disassembled, down to the bare
shell. Solid orig. NC body, nice orig. rear quarters,
detailed underside, detailed 60% gloss. Rebuilt #'s
matching motor. 65 Hi-Po alum intake, 271hp, Hi-Po cam
with hydraulic roller assembly with approx. 2500 to 3000 since
overhauled. This car was originally a C-Code 200hp from
the factory. The upgrades are a Holley 4 barrel carb with
an electronic choke, later HEI dist., electronic ignition for
trouble free performance, factory style exhaust manifolds, Ford
Motor Sports alum valve covers, re cored orig. style radiator.
The inner fender aprons are rust free with the factory pinch
welds. No issues around the hood spring areas. The
exterior finish has a vibrant high gloss finish, factory Ragoon
Red with Futura white center accent strip gives this car a lot
of eye appeal. Restored bright work that is highly
polished, re chromed front and rear bumpers, 15" Magnum 500
wheels with BF Goodrich p215/65R 15" raised white letter
radials. Orig. glass in very good condition, but not
perfect. Minor scratches, barely noticeable, but over all
very good. New replacement windshield with new rubber
gasket. Proper fit to hood, doors and deck lid.
Doors open with no effort, no sagging, just nice and tight.
The trunk area is very clean, detailed with spatter paint.
Factory side card board quarter extension inserts, no spare or
jack. Complete new weathers trip kit. Rear pot metal
Falcon trunk trim is nicely refurbished. Headlights,
grille, tail light bezels are all in excellent condition.
This was an extensive professional restoration along with the
rebuilt motor to give it that extra power. Shifting this
top loader 4 spd. brings you back in time. The interior is
completely restored. Brilliant dash and instrument cluster just
like from the factory! Orig. radio, padded dash,
reproduction wood wheel, Summit after market tach nicely
installed on the steering column. All the plastic chrome
has been restored. New carpet, floor mats, door hardware,
re chromed door pillars, interior trim. Original rear view
mirror, day/night option. New seat foam, seat covers, seat
belts in the front seat only. New headliner and dome lens.
The interior door frames, glove box jambs, dash board are all
refinished in Ragoon Red with a high gloss finish.
Aftermarket Kenwood am/fm cassette nicely installed under the
dash. Comes with photos of the restoration process and
1965 Registered owner's manual. Very desirable and
extremely hard to find in this condition. Better than your
every day driver, you'll want to check this one out...see for
yourself. |
