Comments: Luxury with flare and style, this rare example offered for sale is right out of a private collection.  1st time advertised, this original, un restored car is a matching #'s 392 4V hemi engine, Torque Flite push button automatic.  PS, PB, and other options are PW, power door locks, power seat, am seeking radio.  This car has never been restored.  Beautiful body line, orig. chrome, bright work and pot metal.   Trim pieces are showing some age, but all pieces are present.  Structurally, the car is very solid, all orig. shaded glass.  The exterior has a driver quality finish, repainted only once back in the late 70's.  Proper alignment to doors, hood and rear trunk lid. Massive tail fins gives this car a unique style.  These cars are rarely seen in original condition and that haven't' rusted out.  From the looks of it, this one spent most of it's life in the garage.  The chrome bumpers have never been replaced and have a slight haze to them.  Some areas of the exterior pot metal are pitted and in need of restoration.  We like to call it "patina."   The paint is nice, not perfect and has that slightly aged look.  The under carriage has factory under coating, clean underside with no signs of floor repair. The trunk pan area is all orig., although we did notice 1 small hole on the right side which has been repaired professionally, yet overall condition of the trunk is solid and original.    Orig. spare, jack, new trunk mat with all brand new cardboard filler inner quarter panels and wheel house area.   Under the hood, Mopars infamous 392 Hemi 392 cu.in. 345hp @4600 rpm, 450lbs of torque,  bore 4.0000 stroke 3.906 10.0:1 compression gives this car plenty of power on the freeway.  Nicely detailed engine, no modifications.  Rebuilt 4V carb.  Pump the gas twice, turn the key...starts every time.  All the engine components appear to be original according to the seller.  Radiator, generator, dist., etc.   Amazing to see everything is still original under the hood after 54 yrs.   Even the washer bag is still in place and only  a couple of hose clamps have been changed.  No rust noticed under the hood.  Hood springs are not worn, inner fenders and inner wheel wells are original with no rust.    The interior appears to be mostly original with light blue tweed fabric seat covers, door panels and headliner and are in good shape.  The carpet appears it's never been changed and has an aged look but presentable condition.  Perfect orig. steering wheel, dk. blue padded dash with only 1 tiny crack below the rear view mirror mount, very easy to repair.  Very comfortable seating, rare to see early air craft style seat belts, factory, I believe was available starting in 1956, was an option.  These cars were far more advanced than most realize.   aircraft Rocket style tail lights, long sloping rear bubble top back window.  Mostly all cars came fully equipped.   All the power windows work great. power seat, radio plays, gauges all work, heater, horn, instrumentations work.  Weather strip is all orig., and considered in good condition.  Nice clean door bottoms and jambs.  Doors that open and close with no effort.  This daily driver was always maintained, and driven to local car shows.  Very reliable, drives smooth and offered at a realistic price.  Considered very collectible.  Only 1,939 Sport coupe were produced in 1958 with limited of these vehicles left in existence.  Weighing in at 4,730lbs., with a list price $5,388.00, the 58 Chrysler Imperial Crown was the the "mother ship" and the most expensive model built.  Own a piece of Mopar history!
