Comments: "THE HAIRIEST OLDSMOBILE"  Mr. Hurst and Dr. Oldsmobile build the mind shatter...Article, June 1969 Motor Trend Magazine.  The Hurst/Olds is intended to be a kind of an American Grand Touring machine, and succeeds admirably!  It accelerates like a rocket sled, 380hp @5000 RPM with 500lbs of torque @ 3200 RPM, 10.0:1 compression make this monster of a beast!  Just out of the paint shop, this 69 Hurst olds HO 455 car is a true #'s matching car.  Stripped down to the bare metal, a ground up restoration, with all it's original sheet metal.  Solid orig. floor pans, with an excellent frame.  Refinished in PPG2 stage base coat clear coat system.  Correct formula for the gold accent, hand painted 1/8 black pin striping.  Our research indicates the stripe was painted form the factory.  Countless hours to the body panels for straightness.  New Bullet mirrors, complete new tail light bezels, lenses, side marker lights, complete weather strip kit.  Hurst emblems and decals, not yet shown.  No expense spared in this extremely rare, low production, most sought after Olds.  1 of 906.  Options are:  factory air, tinted glass, PW, tilt, deluxe steering wheel and AM radio.  There is still lots to do on this rare Olds 442.  Numbers match 455/380hp Rocket engine, rebuilt .060 over, standard rod, standard main bearing, new Eagle rods.  The heads were ported, polished, Eaton racing hydraulic lifters, comp cam magnum roller tip rockers, new set of 5/16" guide plates and Poly lock locking nuts.  Smith Bros. oil restrictive pushrods.  $2189.00 spent on the head work alone.  ARP head bolts.  We have a set of new Hooker performance headers, but in search of the orig. factory exhaust manifolds.  Rebuilt #'s matching TH400 trans, new TCI performance 2400 stall converter.  Next, we will tackle the underside and engine bay.  Detailing factory undercoating should be a real task to remove, but the floors and frame are fantastic!  We are gong all out on this extremely rare, early production car.  57,043 actual miles.  Demmers Report indicates this is #19 car in the registry.  Copies of Demmers delivery receipts, also, Hurst performance research corp. dated 4/7/69.  We are excited to have such a rare example, and with any luck to have it completed sometime this summer.  Restoring a car of this caliber takes lots of time, research and patience, not to mention the cost!  This is not just any car, it's a true piece of Olds Muscle Car History...well worth it.
