"Pontiac, We Build
Excitement"...Yes, that was a very true Statement!!
Many in today's Muscle Car
hobby agree the 1964 GTO was the first "Muscle Car" built
for the Baby Boom generation. But just as true is the
belief that Pontiac created the last muscle car of
that era as well with their 1974 SD 455's. How's that for a stamp of
authority? All of that brings us to this
example of Pontiac Excitement. A real
1972 4 speed 455 HO Trans Am, with PHS Documents.
The motor was rebuilt less than 200 miles on the complete
drive train. H.O. exhaust manifolds, orig. H.O.
cylinder heads, PS, PFDB, orig. shaker set up with the
flapper door that is functional fresh air induction, factory
intake, Vaccum dist., Beautiful paint, detailed doors, hood,
trunk and jambs. Transmission has been rebuilt, M-21 4
Speed and the Rear end is the Limited Slip 3:42 with a
factory rear sway bar. Complete restoration
that took approx. 5 yrs., then put in storage, only a few
minor details are left to complete this one of 458 produced
HO Trans Ams'.
Low production numbers were due
to the well documented strike back in 1972. The
stunning White with Blue stripes, and new black interior
is super nice and show very well, and what is cooler than looking out the
windshield at that awesome shaker scoop that shakes from
side to side as you shift through the gears
with the dual Flow master exhaust screaming out the factory
chrome tips!! 76,000 actual miles indicated.
The only other standard option this car came with is an AM/FM
radio, and we have one! New complete dash pad, new
steering Formula steering wheel, factory seat belts, new
seat foam, seat covers, headliner, door panels, carpet.. you
name it! Detailed trunk with orig. jack, spare 15"
Rally II. Super straight fitting new rear quarters,
high gloss 2 stage base coat clear coat system. The
front Endura bumper is beautiful, no spider cracks, new
marker lights, perfect grille. Refinished 15" Rally II
wheels with new black wall radial P225/70R 15". Every
nut, bolt and screw has been replaced or restored. All
the spoilers and flares are in excellent condition.
95% to completion, and scheduled for service in our service
dept.
These rare Birds are few and
far between and very rarely seen offered for sale. Get
