Harkening back to Cadillac’s flamboyant, tail-finned era this 1957 Cadillac Coupe de Ville is a simply beautiful, all-original example that originally came from a dealership in Texas. This Series 62 Coupe de Ville was acquired from a private estate from the northern seacoast of Maine. The story goes that while on vacation in Arizona in 1996, a Maine lobsterman who had always wanted a 1957 Cadillac bought the pampered, low mileage (only about 8,000 miles!) car after seeing in in the “Old Car Trader”. He brought the car back to Maine and built a brand new, climate-controlled garage made strictly for the Cadillac. In addition to being a pristine, low-mileage example, this Caddy is absolutely loaded. Every option box must’ve been checked as it has air conditioning as well as power steering/brakes/windows/seat/antenna. That former owner was so meticulous about the care and presentation of his beloved Coupe de Ville that he bought three sets of whitewall tires, so that the “just right” set would be matched to the car. An aftermarket radio was neatly installed under the dash. Cars and Coffee appeal is great with this car as the factory Buckskin paint looks amazing, as does the various chrome and stainless-steel trim. The tinted glass and weather strip are likewise in excellent condition. The original jack and spare tire are still present. A complete service was done by Carroll Street Auto when we acquired the car. Highlights of that comprehensive service include restoring the entire brake system (including master cylinder, power booster, and all four wheel cylinders) gas tank removal and cleaning, rebuilding the original carburetor and a complete fluid service (including an oil change and rear differential fluid change). With only 13,614 original miles on it at this time, this ’57 Cadillac Coupe de Ville is truly a time capsule that looks incredible inside and out and is a well-preserved car with no issues. Unfortunately, this beautiful classic was sold nearly as soon as we got it, but we felt it was so nice that we wanted to show it off anyway!
