Description

** JUST REDUCED $4,000 ** Back in 1955, the Ford Thunderbird debuted as a more luxurious, more powerful two-seat convertible alternative to Chevrolet’s Corvette (which initially was only available with a straight six coupled to an automatic). The “baby bird” ran just three years, 1955 through 1957, and with its stylish design and V8 power it was the car of choice for the sports, radio and screen stars of the day. On offer here is a 1957 Thunderbird that was the subject of a high-end, frame-off restoration with less than 2,000 miles since. The rock-solid body was resprayed in the correct Gunmetal Gray which is a nice, classy change from the more common red, white or black. Brilliant chrome and stainless-steel trim, as well as a set of factory Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels fitted with wide white wall radial tires, add to the T-bird’s fantastic curb appeal. Inside, the black and white upholstery looks great and the bench seat is firm. This baby bird is nicely equipped too, with a telescopic steering wheel and full power features including steering, brakes and windows. The instruments, dash top and eye-catching “engine-turned” dash and door accents are in fine condition as well. Note that the car is equipped with a soft top but not a hard top. Under the scooped hood is the original 312 cubic-inch V8 with its factory 4-barrel carburetion and factory “dress up” kit, which consists of the chrome air cleaner cover and ribbed rocker covers with the Thunderbird logo. The V8’s power runs through the original automatic transmission. Underway, the T-bird is smooth and peppy and wheeling this classic around is a breeze thanks to the power steering and brakes. Whether cruising with the top down on a balmy summer’s day or perched at a Cars and Coffee event collecting compliments, this 1957 Thunderbird is ready to provide miles of smiles to its next owner. For more information or to schedule time to see this sharp classic, just give us a call at 603-627-5595. Financing is offered through our approved lender, interesting trades are welcome and enclosed shipping can be arranged.
