That year also marked the debut of the iconic 327 V8, which replaced the 283 and offered even stronger performance than its well-respected predecessor. The styling was also refined as it was now monochromatic and more cohesive with the de-chromed character lines on the front fenders and doors now matching those on the rear quarters. Here we have a very low mileage (just under 32k original miles), three-owner 1962 Corvette that has been very well cared for since new and it shows. The most recent owner restored the car as needed during the early-mid 2000s. As such, the Corvette presents extremely well, with one older appraisal calling it a strong #2 car. And it drives as good as it looks. A very high-quality respray in correct Roman Red highlights the exterior, which also boasts excellent chrome and stainless-steel trim. The correct, spinner-style wheel covers and Goodyear radial whitewalls round out the head-turning curb appeal of this classic Corvette. The interior looks factory fresh with all its correct components intact, including the original signal-seeking AM radio. The seats were reupholstered with new foam and covers, and along with the excellent door panels, dash and carpet add to the showroom-ready vibe. Under the hood is the original, matching-numbers 327/300-horsepower V8 that has been perfectly maintained from day one. That iconic small block runs through the original four-speed gearbox and on to the 3.36-geared Positraction rear end. The suspension and brakes were refreshed as needed to make sure that the handling and braking were up to the high standard set by the powertrain. As a result, the Corvette starts and runs great and it’s a blast to run up and down the gears while carving up a twisty road with the proper soundtrack burbling out of the dual exhausts.
