Description

An original 427 Shelby Cobra is an amazing car. Very light, very powerful and very elemental with just two seats, no windows and no A/C, a vintage 427 Cobra is a massive thrill ride. It’s also a million-dollar car. Among the replicas that are available, Factory Five is known for producing high-quality Cobras with performance that often times exceeds even that of the legendary original. Here we have a Factory Five Cobra, a fresh build with just 8 (yes, eight) miles on it that is titled as a 1965. This beast must be seen, heard and driven to be fully appreciated. Starting with the body, this car wears a gorgeous shadow gray color accented with black/red center stripes. It also features a flip-open gas cap, bullet-style racing mirrors, side exhaust and Halibrand knock-off-style wheels fitted with Yokohama Advan high-performance rubber. Jump into the cockpit (literally as the doors are welded shut, race-car style due to the multi-point roll cage/bar) and you’ll note the Kirkey racing seats, 5-point Simpson racing harness, stout leather-wrapped sport steering wheel, full instruments and an ICE ignition controller. As you’ve likely just realized, this car is more than ready for a track day whenever you are. The pistol grip Hurst shifter further hints at the serious nature of this Cobra. Under the lift-off hood is a built 351 Windsor that boasts a dry sump oiling system, Kaase P38 aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake and carb, headers and a heavy-duty aluminum radiator (with dual fans). The headers run into those side pipes and the car sounds mean when you fire it up and especially when you lean into it as you run through the gears. Speaking of gears, that Hurst shifter controls a Tremec six-speed gearbox which sends the power to the independently-suspended rear end. Out on the road, the powerful V8, precise rack-and-pinion steering, firm suspension calibrations and massive Wilwood disc brakes all combine to make this car about the most fun you can have on four wheels. Ripping acceleration, an amazing soundtrack and a race-track-ready suspension will do that. Representing a build cost north of $80,000, this gorgeous Factory Five Cobra is essentially brand new and priced over $30,000 under cost. Please call Carroll Street Auto at (603) 627-5595 for further information or to schedule time to view this amazing Cobra. Financing is offered through our approved lender, trades are welcome and enclosed shipping can be arranged.
