Description

As any of its fans will tell you, 1967 was the first year for the Chevy Camaro. With its long hood, short deck styling and menu of potent V8s -- including a brawny 396 big block that became available later in the model year -- Chevy made sure that the Camaro's "go" matched its considerable "show". Here we have a real-deal 1967 Camaro SS 396 convertible which has had just one owner over the last 25 years who carefully restored the car during that time. Having amassed just 29,007 miles since it rolled off the assembly line, this big-block Camaro originally saw dragstrip duty in New England, accumulating many of those miles a "quarter-mile at a time". This car was very quick, as time slips show mid-to-high 11-second quarters. Parts that were replaced during the comprehensive restoration include genuine GM rear quarters as well as new old stock fenders and door skins. Note that additional extras include the original White bumblebee nose stripe kit, new old stock wheel opening moldings, an aluminum intake and a Holley carburetor. The rock-solid body wears an incredible, high-quality "Deepwater Blue" finish that looks like you could dip your hand in it. The manually-operated, wrinkle-free convertible top has never been down since the restoration, and as a result its plastic rear window looks like glass. Brilliant chrome and stainless-steel trim and 15-inch Rally wheels (upgraded from 14s) wearing redline radial tires add the perfect finishing touch to this handsome Camaro. Originally equipped with a 396 V8 rated at 325 horsepower, the SS now has an era-correct NOM 396 that's paired up to a correct but NOM Muncie M21 close-ratio 4-Speed manual transmission. All that power runs to a 3.31-geared, 12-bolt Positraction rear end which provides a nice balance of thrilling performance with effortless and relaxed highway cruising. Adding to the driving pleasure are power front disc brakes and power steering upgrades that were added during the restoration. Swing open the door and you'll note that the original Black Deluxe interior has been very well preserved, as seen in its unrestored seat covers, door panels, and instruments, as well as the original console, tach, gauges, and AM/FM stereo radio. Note that this incredible Camaro SS 396 drop top comes with a complete owner history, restoration and maintenance receipts, and a photo album showing the restoration. It also comes with a Massachusetts title with actual miles. For more information or to schedule time to see this captivating Camaro, just give Roland a call at 603-361-3693. Financing is offered through our approved lender, interesting trades are welcome and enclosed shipping can be arranged.
