With its combination of handsome styling backed up by big block power, the 1967 Chevelle SS 396 has long been a favorite of muscle car fans. Underneath the bulging hood came a standard 325-horsepower 396 cubic-inch V8, with even more power available. With such an appealing combination of "show" and "go", it's no surprise that these cars were (and are) very popular. Here we have a beautiful 1967 Chevelle Super Sport boasting the optional, more powerful 396 matched to a 4-speed stick that was the recipient of a high-end, frame-off restoration with minimal miles since. This true "138" SS is a mostly original car with a rock-solid body and undercarriage. The arrow-straight and rock-solid body boasts beautiful and correct Marina Blue paint with the factory white pinstripes and beautiful chrome/stainless-steel trim providing the perfect accent. This '67 SS has a similarly rock-solid undercarriage and the trunk is clean as well. A set of 15-inch Rally wheels wearing redline radials add to the Chevelle's massive curb appeal. Note that the car also comes with 14-inch Rally wheels with redline tires. This car is loaded with factory options whose highlights include air conditioning, power steering, power front disc brakes, tinted glass, the blinker tach and an AM/FM radio with the rare Multiplex stereo option (which has been restored as well and sounds great). No boring bench seat here, as the SS sports the optional bucket seats and console. Under the hood is the correct, numbers-matching, optional 350-horsepower 396 V8 that looks fresh and sends the power through the matching-numbers 4-speed M20 transmission and out to the 3.07-geared Positraction rear end. And it drives every bit as nice as it looks. Lean on it as you run through the gears and you'll be treated to a rocking '60's soundtrack as the car moves out like a scalded cat. Power steering and power front disc brakes add to the car's easy-going demeanor. With its combination of stunning condition, very desirable features (including the 4-speed, A/C and that rare stereo system) and huge fun-to-drive factor, this car would be at least $10,000 more at one of the big auctions and thus represents a great value here at Carroll Street Classics. It likely won't last long here. For more information or to schedule time to see this classic Chevelle SS, just give us a call at 603-627-5595.
