Description

Back in the mid- to late-1960s, GM's full-size car offerings were on point with their handsome styling and powerful engines choices. Plush interiors and a soft, quiet ride were other perks of getting one of these large cruisers. Choosing a convertible meant added fun on those sunny day road trips. Here we have a 1968 Buick LeSabre convertible that presents a strong value thanks to its overall condition, loaded-with-options configuration and affordable price tag. Finished in Cameo Cream, this LeSabre drop top boasts a rock-solid body and underside. The high-gloss finish is complemented by the black convertible top, brilliant chrome and stainless-steel trim and Buick wire wheel covers. The original interior presents very well, and the embossed upholstery and matching door panels harken back to a time when style was king. And did we say this baby's loaded? Nearly all the options were checked off as it has A/C (that has been converted to R-134a refrigerant) as well as power steering, power front disc brakes, power drivers seat, tilt steering wheel and a power antenna. We say "nearly" all the options because it doesn't have power windows. It also sports an aftermarket AM/FM/Aux audio system that's meant to look like an original radio with its "Buick" branding and old-school preset buttons. A wood-rimmed three-spoke sport steering wheel adds even more style to the fancy dash. Under the hood is the tried-and-true 350 V8, this one being the upgraded version with a 4-barrel carb and higher compression for stronger performance over the base 350-2 barrel mill. The smooth-shifting automatic transmission and the power steering/brakes make it a breeze to wheel this beautiful Buick around town. We drove it 400 miles home after our purchase, from PA to NH, and it was a smooth, comfortable ride the whole way.
