There’s no denying the 1969 Camaro’s popularity. The last year of the first-gen Camaro sported unique styling updates that gave it a more muscular and sharper look than the ’67 and ’68. Of course, the wide range of powertrains and options add to the allure of this iconic classic. Here we have a 1969 Camaro convertible that is simply gorgeous. With its arrow-straight body finished in its original hue of Rallye Green accented with a set of Rally wheels wearing 215/70/14 Cooper radials, this Camaro has no problem turning heads. The white convertible top does have a very small tear on the left side (see photo) but is perfectly functional as-is. The underside and trunk are as rock solid as the rest of the body. Inside, the black vinyl interior is all original and in excellent shape all around. The optional console with its so-called “Staple” shifter adds to the sporty vibe while an aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette deck allows you to blast the Beach Boys “Endless Summer” while out cruising with the top down. Under the hood is the original 327 2-barrel V8 that was rated at 210 horsepower. It sends its smooth power to the rear wheels through the original Powerglide automatic transmission. The Camaro is factory-equipped with power steering and manual brakes. We put the car through our shop for inspection and have replaced the front ball joints. The Camaro is a joy to drive as it starts, runs and drives well. Note that there are a few options for those considering the purchase of this handsome Camaro. The car can be sold “as is” for the price indicated, making for a high quality driver. Or to take the car to the next level, we could perform a partial resto-modification on it for an added cost. Specifically, we would replace the convertible top with a new white one and add white factory-style “hockey stick” bodyside stripes. We would then upgrade the 327 engine with a factory 4-barrel intake and carb, a 295-horsepower spec camshaft and a dual exhaust system.
