Here is something you don't see everyday -- a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu with a factory-issued (and documented) 350 4-barrel V8 and 4-speed manual powertrain. There's also factory buckets and console, power steering, power brakes and full instrumentation. Something of a junior SS, this Chevelle was likely ordered with all those sporty options to provide plenty of V8 performance and fun while avoiding the higher insurance cost of a big-block car, making it affordable to a muscle car enthusiast back in 1969 on a tighter budget. In addition to the rare powertrain, this Malibu 350 features a gorgeous "all original metal" body that has had one proper repaint in the correct Azure Turquoise. The factory lower silver accent paint and black vinyl top add to the head-turning looks of this classic Chevelle. The incredibly solid body and undercarriage are all original (the quarter panels still have pinch welds) as is the trunk, with its proper spatter paint. A set of Eagle 15-inch polished five-spokes fitted with beefy radials provide the proper look and stance. That numbers-matching 350 V8 was taken out and freshened up as needed just last year. The documented work included a new valve job (with hardened seats to run fine on unleaded gas) and oil pan gasket and while the 350 was out the engine compartment was nicely detailed. A dual exhaust system, with throaty "Blue Streak" glass pack mufflers, was installed at some point and sounds great. The 4-speed Muncie shifts smoothly and sends the power back to a 12-bolt (non-Posi) rear end with a factory-issued 3:31 final drive for spirited acceleration. The suspension and braking systems were also gone through and restored. The front suspension benefits from new shocks/coil springs, upper/lower ball joints, upper/lower control arm bushings and an upgraded front sway bar. The rear suspension likewise received new bushings, shocks and coil springs. The power braking system was upgraded to front discs and virtually the whole system was rebuilt, including new calipers/discs, booster, master cylinder and lines. Inside, the original seats and door panels are in fine condition and a new dash pad maintains the excellent appearance. The optional "Special Instrumentation" package includes a tachometer, clock and oil pressure gauges. The factory console and gear shifter add to the muscle car vibe and the mostly original interior still has the factory AM radio in the dash. The original build sheet, owner's manual and Protect-O-Plate are included with the car. With its combination of rarity, condition, options and fun factor, this 1969 Malibu 350 checks all the boxes.
