1969 Chevrolet Corvette

Within the massive range of C3 (1968-1982) Corvettes, many enthusiasts prefer those produced from 1968-1972. These Corvettes featured the stylish chrome front and rear bumpers as well as more power and performance compared to the later cars. Here we have one that's right at the peak of that era -- a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette coupe. Note that this is not a "numbers-matching" example, but rather a very nice driver that has had a few functional and cosmetic upgrades. As such, this makes for a strong "bang for the buck" C3 for someone who just loves the style and performance of these cars and is not concerned about impressing the Corvette fanatics with a bunch of numbers at the local Cars and Coffee. Look close and you'll notice a rock-solid body and very presentable paint and chrome/stainless-steel trim. The original hood with its clunky wiper door was replaced with a sleeker 1980-1982 style hood, while the classic Rally wheels fitted with BF Goodrich T/As finish off the curb appeal. Inside, the black interior is in fine condition from the T-tops down to the carpet. A Corvette branded AM/FM/Cassette audio system is at the ready to play those "Rock of the '70s" tapes. Under the hood is a non-matching-numbers 350 V8 that starts and runs smoothly. This small-block sports a few upgrades that bump up the fun factor and the automatic transmission has been upgraded to a four-speed (versus the original three-speed) 700R4 unit which provides both better acceleration and more relaxed highway cruising. Out on the road this Corvette is a fun car to drive, with plenty of power, a smooth-shifting transmission, power steering, strong brakes and of course a soundtrack that only a muscular small-block can sing.
