Description

Restomods are the best of both worlds as they combine the look of an original muscle car with modern upgrades in performance and comfort. For example, having fuss-free and smooth-running fuel-injection versus a cantankerous carburetor and having a strong four-wheel-disc brake setup versus a less effective all drum brake affair. Here we have a gorgeous 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda 340 restomod that must be seen to be believed. The comprehensive, high-end resto-modification took place over five-plus years and the car has barely been properly stored and barely used since. The first thing that strikes you is the rock-solid, laser-straight body that’s sports jet-black paint that looks a foot deep. That gorgeous finish is accented by satin black “340” factory rear quarter stripes and a set of 17-inch Mopar Rally-style wheels wearing beefy BF Goodrich g-Force Comp 2 tires. Open either door (which click shut with a touch of your finger) and you’ll see that the interior is just as amazing. Fully restored using “Legendary” upholstery and components, the interior looks like a page out of the 1970 Barracuda brochure. Notable features include the factory Rally dash, factory wood-tone steering wheel, a pistol grip shifter, a modern stereo and a “Vintage Air” air conditioning system. Under the factory dual-scoop hood sits a 340 V8 whose highlights include an Edelbrock fuel injection system, a high-performance camshaft, Hooker ceramic-coated headers and an MSD ignition. The gloss black-finished engine bay, along with finned “Mopar Performance” rocker arm covers and satin black air cleaner will make you proud to raise the hood. All that power runs through a Tremec 5-speed manual and on to the rear tires via a 3.55-geared limited-slip rear end. The steering, brakes and suspension also received the full restomod treatment. The steering is now a precise rack-and-pinion setup which is light years better than the old factory setup, while suspension upgrades that include tubular A arms and plenty of other Hotchkis components give this Cuda handling chops an original could only dream of. The brakes are likewise vastly improved via a full Wilwood power four-wheel disc system with adjustable proportioning valve. Given all that, this 1970 Cuda 340 restomod runs, drives, turns and stops extremely well and is simply more fun to drive than an original with its primitive brakes and mediocre handling. For more information or to schedule time to see this riveting restomod, just give us a call at 603-627-5595. Financing is offered through our approved lender, interesting trades are welcome and enclosed shipping can be arranged.
