Description

Introduced for 1968, the Plymouth Road Runner was essentially a base Belvidere coupe packing a high-output, 335-horsepower 383 V8 with a standard 4-speed stick (3-speed automatic was optional) along with upgraded suspension and brakes. The standard interior was basic – a bench seat and little in the way of luxury features. In other words, the Road Runner was all performance, no frills and a blast to drive. On offer here is a 1970 Road Runner that has been beautifully restored. Starting with a rock-solid body, this genuine Road Runner was refinished in its correct FK5 Deep Burnt Orange with the arrow straight body boasting excellent fit and finish It's accented with the optional “Air Grabber” hood and Road Runner “Dust Trail” side stripes while a set of old-school Cragar S/S wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial T/As provide the perfect punctuation mark on this strong Mopar statement. Swing open the door and you’ll see a factory fresh interior. Everything is in excellent condition, from the headliner to the carpet and all the components are factory correct and of top quality. The “Pistol Grip” shifter for the four-speed sits in front of the bench seat, while the optional rally gauges fill out the dash. The factory AM radio was rebuilt during the restoration. Under the hood is the refreshed 383 complete with its “Coyote Duster” air cleaner. Factory exhaust manifolds run into the dual exhaust system that features an electric cut-out feature, for when you really want to hear the 383 rumble and sing. Power steering and manual brakes keep the beast in check. As this car came with the optional “A36” Performance Axle package, it boasts a 3.55 Sure Grip rear end as well as Hemi Suspension Handling package. With an unbeatable combination of head-turning looks, impressive overall condition and desirable factory options, this 1970 Road Runner is ready to thrill its next fortunate owner.
