Description

** SPECIAL FALL PRICE SAVE $2,000 NOW ** Finding a fifty-year-old, interesting car in fantastic original condition is a rare treat. And yet, here we have such a treat in the form of a 1972 Dodge Charger. As indicated on the original window sticker and build sheet, the Charger was special ordered in dark green without pinstripes and with plenty of options. Powered by the bulletproof 318 V8, this dynamite Dodge was ordered with power steering, power front disc brakes, automatic transmission, factory undercoating, dual racing mirrors, AM radio/rear speaker, tinted glass, air conditioning, rear window defogger, canopy vinyl roof, bumper guards and concealed headlights. The body and underside of this Charger are amazing up close. Still boasting all its original body panels and paint, the Charger gleams like a well-kept five-year-old car, let alone one that’s 10 times that age. Even the original trunk floor impresses when you lift the trunk mat away to see its condition. The canopy vinyl top accentuates the Charger’s unique, two-year-only (1971, 1972) roof and side window design. Though the old wheel covers are long gone, a set of period-correct, beautiful chrome “Magnum 500” style wheels fitted with beefy BFG T/A radials add to the massive curb appeal. The bench seat interior is in very nice shape overall as well, with crack-free dash, door panels and steering wheel. A full set of factory gauges minus a tach keeps tabs on oil pressure, coolant temp and charging status. Note that there is an older Panasonic AM/FM/Cassette stereo with a working radio and non-working cassette player. And yes, the A/C works. The powertrain is virtually bone stock apart from a throaty Flowmaster dual exhaust system. The 318 2-barrel V8 is peppy, the brakes feel strong and provide linear stops and overall the Charger drives and handles very well. Over the bumps and ruts the ride is smooth, a side benefit of this being a standard Charger and not a more stiffly sprung, high-performance variant. As the collector car gurus like to say: “they’re only original once”. If you’re looking to get a well-preserved, time capsule example of Dodge’s iconic Charger, then this is a “don’t miss” opportunity. Please call Carroll Street Auto at (603) 627-5595 to schedule time to view this classic close up. Financing is offered through our approved lender, trades are welcome and enclosed shipping can be arranged.
