The powerful V12 replaced the inline six that was used in the series I and series II so the car could meet increasingly tough emissions standards without losing its legendary performance capabilities. With that silky-smooth 12-cylinder engine under the bonnet, power steering now standard and an automatic transmission available, the E-Type adopted a refined, grand touring persona. The 1974 E-Type on offer here is a one-owner California car that has been acquired from the former owner's estate. According to the owner's family, the Jaguar has always been garaged and pampered. As such, it has a rock solid original body and underside, with no signs of accidents or rust repair. That beautiful body still shines brightly in the factory "Signal Red" while the top, replaced at some point, is likewise in fine shape and indeed looks as if it's never been folded down. The optional factory wire wheels add to the Jag's significant curb appeal. Inside, everything is original except for the carpet, with the saddle leather upholstery still presenting well. Fitted with the optional automatic transmission and air conditioning, this E-Type is ideal for long road trips, preferably those with a lot of winding country roads. The car also comes with the original California pink title, window sticker, tools, spare, books and complete history from day one.
